It was a real pleasure to present at the Social Media Strategy Summit 2024, as well as head the event as its chairman.
SMSS24 is the annual summit that takes place in KL and gathers speakers and delegates from the entire Asia-Pacific region. This year’s crew came from a variety of industries and roles, but we were united in our passion for marketing and hands-on approach to the craft.

I had a chance to share with the audience some of the timeless marketing strategies and principles that stood the test of time, from the bazaars of the ancient world, to the Mad Men era of TV and print, and to the cutting-edge platforms from Meta, TikTok, Google and others.
Here are only some of the topics that the presentation has covered:
- We unpacked the purchase/conversion funnel from the perspective of human behavior (a guide, not a rigid framework)
- Looked at the measurement techniques that became the gold standard in medicine, sociology as well as marketing and other fields
- Discussed creative techniques that help to capture attention in the right context
- Outlined media mix models to solve the mosaic of the platforms, formats and metrics.

I also appreciated the opportunity to head both days of the event as its chairman, steer the sessions as well as take part in the exciting panel discussions. We’ve learned about a wide range of topics: from hacking culture to growing communities, from brand building to growth optimization, from employee advocacy to growing personal presence in the industry, and many others.
